Tonight, The Audrey Johnson Show attends the Toys For Teens YPN Casino Night, benefiting the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Oxnard and Port Hueneme Teen Center.

YPN is the Young Professionals Network. Check them out at www.oxnardypn.org!

Tuesday, December 16, 2010 at the TOPA Tower Club.

Audrey Johnson: Join us at the Tower Building, the tallest building in Oxnard, California. YPN is here tonight with Casino Night and they are donating all of their winnings to the Boys and Girls Club. And the Audrey Johnson Show will be right here with them, having fun.

Audrey Johnson: YPN Oxnard is the place to be. If you are a young professional, and you want to be in the happening place, you want to check out YPN, 300 Vineyard Avenue, in the Esplanade. You want to come to the top tower and ask for Robert Lopez.

Tiffany Lopez: YPN President, Abiel Acosta.

Abiel Acosta: I was told to be quick, so we can go back to drinking and start gambling. So I just want to introduce myself, president of the Young Professionals Network. We are a group of young professionals; a professional networking group. We’re like-minded. We want to help out the community, the next generation of the community.

Tim Blaylock: Thank you very much. I want to thank the YPN group. I’m part of the OPN, the Old Professionals Network. [Laughter] So I appreciate you letting me hang out with you for a little while. But I want to just tell you, at the Boys and Girls Club, we have eighteen facilities…

Tim Blaylock: One of the neat programs we have is a nifty program … YPN people get inducted in… That program is a business plan program to teach kids to start and operate their own business. They’re small-time businesses: jewelry businesses, baby sitting, different things…. baking, programs, whatever they want, whatever their idea is, or whatever their talent is… we try to help them advance themselves.

Audrey Johnson: I’m standing with Tiffany Lopez and Peter Duffy. Look at this awesome sign and this beautiful place. Right now we are at Topa…

Peter Duffy: Topa Tower. We’re here at the Casino Night for Toys for Teens. And it’s a benefit for the local Boys and Girls Club of Oxnard and Port Hueneme. [The Teen Center.]

Audrey Johnson: You mentioned you’re with the Boys and Girls Club. And what do you do for the Boys and Girls Club?

Tiffany Lopez: I’m director of community development. And I’m actually a YPN board member. And our idea was to raise gifts for teens, because obviously there is always the Toys for Tots. And the teens often get left out during the holiday season, so… We have some phenomenal gifts, and we’re having a really great time. There’s about 75 people here. We have a great band, The Johnson Account. And we’re having a great time, for charity.

Audrey Johnson: That’s awesome. Well I’m so excited to be with both of you here…

Audrey Johnson: You are on the Audrey Johnson Show, live in 805, and I’m standing here at the Tower with Abiel Acosta. And he is with YPN. Why don’t you share with the viewers exactly what it is you do for the YPN, and how did you get involved?

Abiel Acosta: Okay. I got involved about 2 years ago with the Young Professionals Network. We’re a group of like-minded individuals who want to get together and help out the community, specifically, for the Boys and Girls Club of Oxnard and Port Hueneme. I got involved about a year and a half ago. I went to one of the mixer events that they have there. They took me on a tour of the Boys and Girls Club. I never went to the Boys and Girls Club. I just fell in love with it, just seeing how the program works, and seeing what the kids got out of it. So from that I joined YPN. I really wanted to get involved and help out the Boys and Girls Club.

Audrey Johnson: Live in 805, on the Audrey Johnson Show. I’m standing here with Beau, who’s one of the board members of the YPN. What are we doing here tonight???

Beau Hale: We’re gambling… And we are just trying to raise money for the Boys and Girls Club of Oxnard.
